Ash is a man with the blues in his veins. Ten minutes after I was first introduced to him he walked off to the bathroom with his steel blues guitar under his arm and proceeded to do his business while wailing away some field holler that resonated through the whole house. We met during the recording of the Life Like Liquid sound track in central coast New South Wales Australia. A few years later after I sent him this remix out of the blue (he gave me the tracks about a year beforehand but I was having a hard time organising a recording session for the trumpet) he gave me a call to ask if I would like to play drums for him in Byron Bay the following night. Naturally I said I would love to and about 100 gigs and 2 rehearsal later we had criss-crossed the country more than a few times and played ever gig imaginable from huge festivals to little rural pubs in W.A. All I can say is, what a blast. The man is a lot of fun to hang out with.
