Laneway is Louise O'Reilly and Paul Hannan. Louise is my sister. I had been a professional musician for sometime when Louise dropped a demo on me and I was blown away. She had returned from working in Cape York and had written a bunch of songs and hooked up with Paul who had a few songs floating around and together they recorded a demo all without me knowing she could even really sing. As I write this Laneway are touring Australia playing songs from their debut album and I could not be prouder of her and them.
I have been lucky enough to record drums with them on several occasions and I have to say it is a joy to play such great songs with such talented writers. Paul is such an inspirational player that he even reignited my love of guitar.
